According to Wikipedia:

“Artisan jewelry dates back as far as 7000 BC when gold and copper began to be sculpted to adorn the human form, and the practice continues today.  Although rarely price competitive with machine-made items, handmade artisan jewelry is prized for its uniqueness, variety, and often unsurpassed beauty.  Reflecting the talents of the artisan onto the wearer, the broad spectrum of Artisan jewelry is available to provide satisfaction to queens, rock stars, and ‘everyday folk.’”

I find my inspiration from everything I see in the world around me.  I love bold, bright colors and am fascinated by the way colors, shapes, and textures interact.  I use only precious metals…never base metal.  I use Swarovski® crystal – not pressed glass or lesser-quality imitations. The dance of light from a circle of Swarovski® crystals cannot be duplicated and is magical to behold.  I create lampwork glass in my studio in Atlanta,Georgia and use it primarily as an accent to other materials. I sit at the torch when inspiration strikes me, so it is currently not available on a production scale.

Although one might not consider jewelry a ‘traditional’ art form, unless it contains diamond and carries a price of thousands of dollars, like an artist, I also use a palette of color to create my finished work. The gunmetal sheen of a perfect hematite bead, the glint of gold surrounded by purest azure in a lapis lazuli teardrop, the bubbles and swirls of glorious green Malachite, the subtle glow of precious jade, the bold statement of handmade lampwork glass, the mystery of a perfect pearl…these are my palette…just as a painter uses oils, watercolors, or pastels.

Many people believe in the healing properties of crystals and stones.  I believe in their beauty, their natural perfection and, equally, their natural imperfections.  I believe in their ability to inspire us - to bring light, warmth, coolness, joy, and happiness to both the wearer and the observer.  I believe in combining gems whose color, texture, patterns, and more esoteric characteristics complement each other to bring pleasure to all who enjoy their forms.

My sincere hope is that you, within these pages, will find something which elicits a smile, a caught breath, a wistful longing, or a giggle.  Art, by its very nature, evokes emotion…speaking to those who open themselves to listening.  Enjoy your time browsing through these offerings, and I hope something speaks to you.
